Kure Kart (Kure Grand Prix) is a free kart racing game that runs in your browser and takes you through the real streets of Kure, the naval port city in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Buildings, roads and terrain come from the 3D city model published by Project PLATEAU, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). No install or sign-up — it plays on PCs and on phones (iPhone and Android).
12.2 km point to point — this one does not loop. You start in front of Kure Station, head west on Route 31 over the JR Kure Line, then drop south past the JMSDF Kure Museum, where the submarine Akishio lies on dry land, and the Yamato Museum. Kuramoto-dori takes you north-east along the Sakai River past Kure City Hall, then Kure Hondori brings you back down to Megane-bashi. Route 487 takes you past the Irifuneyama Memorial Hall and down to Miyahara, then the road along the shipyard leads to Alley Karasukojima, where JMSDF submarines are moored right across the water. Route 487 follows the bay south to Keigoya, where a double spiral climbs onto the vermilion Ondo Bridge across the Ondo Strait; the race finishes at the bottom of the spiral on the Kurahashi Island side, with the Second Ondo Bridge in view to the north.
SOLO PLAY races you against AI karts. ONLINE PLAY is online multiplayer for up to 8 players in the same race, with AI filling any empty seats. Use items and drift mini-turbos to move up the order.
